Enlisted in the Army June 20th 1923 at Sheffield (aged 15) Discharged June 6th 1935 at Aldershot (aged 27) he was a bandsman in the Yorkshire Regiment.
He Enlisted again October 10th 1938 at York (aged 30) he saw active service in many theatres of war during WWII, he was discharged on Sep 21st 1959 at Wilton (aged 51) he was in the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
